Back in our Kentucky studio we have photographed many children throughout their lives. But here, on St Croix in the US Virgin Islands, one family and their two precious little girls stand out in our minds...as we have watched them grow since before they were born!
We have been lucky enough to photography Kristi, Shack, Kai and Kinsley every year, starting with the maternity portrait session when Kai was in her mommies tummy! One of Kristi's friends suggested that she schedule a maternity session to commemorate her first pregnancy. This was back in 2013 and we are so glad that Ana made the suggestion, because we now have a beautiful catalog of images that document the life and growth of their wonderful family!
The first year for each girl was particularly fun! With multiple sessions in our 'Watch Me Grow' program we capture the progression of the first year. We created a leather-bound keepsake album with images from Kai's newborn photography session, sitting up at a few months old and her first birthday. A keepsake that generations to come will really enjoy!
Their second maternity photo session was super special... watching their family grow and witnessing Kai's excitement at becoming a big sister are memories that we cherish! We've become good friends with their family over the years. Kevin's day job is even with Shack at Polaris Engineering!
It's fascinating to watch children as their personality blossoms. Kai is totally her daddy - thoughtful and kind but always questioning and ready to solve a problem. She's vegetarian ...and animal lover through and through. Kinsley is so different! She's bubbly and giggly, and a total tom-boy. Not to mention she loves a good beef lasagna!
Over the last five years, we have photographed each of the girls for their birthdays. We've created keepsake albums, wall decor and Christmas cards for the family, from each session. We are so thankful and blessed to be a part of this family's anthology. We can't wait for their graduation sessions!
We love you Hawkins clan! Geaux Hogs!!
