A group of St Croix's finest wedding vendors brought aboard Roseway (a stunning 137' schooner) by Nichole Reed of Events by Nichole.
It takes a small village to produce large events and weddings on St Croix. Thankfully we have lots wonderful vendors who take great pride in assembling stunning events. The lovely and talented Nichole Reed, a leader among them.
Nichole works hard curating some of St Croix's largest weddings and events. In celebration of another year of producing many stunning events, she decided that it was high time the party planners had a party of their own. If you are going to host a party in support of our local businesses then why not host it with a venue that gives so much to our community... World Ocean School aboard Roseway.
Nichole has been a fan and supporter of World Ocean School for many years, and with good reason. World Ocean School has been sailing Roseway to the shores of St Croix for 10 years! Built 1925 in Essex, Massachusetts, Roseway, is a registered U.S. National Historic Landmark. From November to April, World Ocean School provides 350 local students the opportunity to learn maritime skills with a fresh view of their island home and their fellow students.
World Ocean School is a non-profit organization made possible by generous donations and fees from public events, like the sunset sail Nichole brought us all together for. Nichole brought many to the Roseway for their first experience aboard the Roseway, each of them disappointed that they had waited so long to participate. The crew of Roseway are so passionate about what they do that you cannot help but enjoy yourself. A vessel so beautiful and in possession of such a rich history should be enjoyed whenever possible.
An excerpt from World Ocean School's website, of a crew member's excitement for working aboard Roseway: "I generally love working with youth—young people have so many ideas and dreams, less jaded by society and rules than most adults. The world seems bigger around kids, so full of possibilities that anything could happen and these students are the key. I am especially excited to be able to share my love of sailing, adventure, and the ocean with all its marvels. The students we work with are the future stewards of our environment, and I really hope that the time they spend with us aboard the Roseway will inspire them to take care of our planet. And continue learning and exploring in order to fully enjoy all its wonders."
Nichole is planning a Fundraiser in support of World Ocean School aboard a docked Roseway on February 22nd. Local musician, Adrian, will be entertaining guests while local restaurants and businesses will be providing delicious food and wine.
Support World Ocean School by purchasing tickets to the fundraiser and their other events, including their 2-hour Sunset Sails. You may use the buttons below to purchase tickets.
Thank you, Nichole, and thank you World Ocean School!
